"Need Medical Assistance at Godhra, Lalitpur. There are 8 pregnant women and 1 elderly woman having nasty head injury, in need of medical assistance. Moreover, there are many other women having minor injuries". A message sent to Natasha Sharma, Rapid Response Team, by Ashik Malla on messenger on 5th May 2015. He furthered messaged,"You can contact Professor Kiran Bajracharya. She is providing midwifery care to earthquake victims, women and children and tentless."
Soon after that, our team got active. We reached out to the earthquake victims from that part on phone and noted down all their problem. Then we reached out to the medical personnel, Kiran Bajracharya and informed her about all the problem and the need of medical assistance there. Mrs. Kiran soon left for Godhra with her team. Today, When we again contact her, she said,"The roads very narrow. We went half the way on vehicle but couldn't proceed further, so, we decided to go by foot. When we reached there, there were no pregnant ladies but a big group of people were suffering from fever and headache". Further she also said that no any medical team has been there since the devastating earthquake occurred,"We were first to reach there. We provided Measles vaccine to the children and other required treatment to the villagers."
Special credit of thanks goes to Kiran Bajracharya and her team, who showed their devotion and determination during these situation. We must be grateful to Mr. Ashik Malla who informed our team about it. This is just one of the incident where we succeed.
